Cape Town & Peninsula

South Africa’s Mother City sits beneath Table Mountain, with the Cape Peninsula running south to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. It is the natural starting point for most itineraries, combining city sightseeing, coastal drives and national-park scenery.

Garden Route

The Garden Route follows the southern coast between Mossel Bay and the Tsitsikamma forests, linking lagoons, beaches and indigenous forest. Knysna and Plettenberg Bay are classic overnight stops, while Tsitsikamma is known for adventure activities such as the Bloukrans Bridge bungy.

Klein Karoo

Inland from the coast, the semi-arid Klein Karoo centres on Oudtshoorn, known for ostrich farms, the Cango Caves and wildlife experiences. It pairs naturally with a Garden Route self-drive.

East of Cape Town, the Overberg coast includes Hermanus, famous for land-based whale watching in season, and Gaansbaai, a centre for marine-wildlife excursions.
